Novartis Indonesia also shows its commitment by supporting the local community. Since 2003, Novartis Indonesia has been helping qualifying Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) patients to get free treatments of together with the Indonesian Cancer Association (Yayasan Kanker Indonesia). Novartis Indonesia has actively participated in disaster relief like a mobile library donation to the National Commission for Child Protection after the 2005 tsunami, and spontaneous employee volunteering program after the 2006 Yogya earthquake.
With its vision to increase patient access to medicines, Novartis Indonesia has ongoing partnership with local government where its best medicines are part of the national health insurance program (ASKES). The company has also strong links with reputable hospitals such as PERTAMINA to provide special programs to increase patient access to medicines.
