Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing between Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia and Novartis Indonesia
Jakarta, 14 November 2011 - In line with the commemoration of 47 th National Health Day in 12 November 2011, the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia invited the private sector to partner up and committed in health improvement which started with the MOU's signing. Together with 22 other companies, Novartis Indonesia signed agreement with Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia marking the commitment to help achieving the MDG's target in health areas.
In her welcoming speech, Minister of Health Republic of Indonesia, dr. Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih, MPH, Dr PH mentioned that "the private sector can play important role in helping to improve public health, covering programs: improvement of maternal health, child mortality, improving nutrition status, communicable disease management including, HIV and AIDS management, Tuberculosis; Malaria and dengue fever, as well as non communicable diseases management.
Novartis welcomes Ministry of Health initiative to invite the private sector to help achieving the MDG's target in health areas. The initiative is in line with Novartis commitment to address the patients and community in Indonesia by improving its public health through various educational programs and partnership.
